PC World Fraud

PCWorld and go to someone like Dell etc.

In July 2007 I purchased a new computer from PCWorld and a few days later had to return it to the store as it was giving problems.
They said it was the harddrive.
The Lady manager showed me another type of computer which I accepted then they asked me was I happy taking the display model as that was all they had to which I replied I paid 1800 euro for a new computer why would I now take a secondhand one, then the assistant who was with the Manager
said there are loads of them in the store.
So I got another new replacement.
I then got another and another 4 in all.
Always the same answer harddrive or motherboard.
The last one I got I had to keep it for 2 months before they would replace it.
Something got to do with protocol etc

On July 19th 2007approx 2 days after returning a faulty computer to
PC World in Limerick someone gained access to all my email accounts,
passwords,ebay account etc etc.
This could only have been done through the computer
I had returned to the store as all my files were loaded onto this
computer and as it had closed down and not let me gain access
to remove my personal files.
PC World had assured me that the harddrive would be erased
when they had gained access to it.
Due to this I lost access to 12 email accounts, my ebay account and
5 years of Internet Marketing material.
To this day I have only been able to get back one of the email account
with the expert help of Google.
I was always 100% sure that it was someone working for PC World or
at lease due to PC World but I never had any proof until now.
This Morning 10th Dec 2007 I received a phone call on my
mobile phone from a gentleman called Derrick Howard.
He asked if I had been the owner of a sony desktop to which I replied that I had one but it was faulty and had returned it to PC World.
He informed me that he had purchased it as new from PC World
a few days ago and when he turned it on my personal stuff was there
to be seen.
This is how he got my mobile phone number.
He said he purchased it as new for 1000 euro approx and when he got
home some items eg: cables etc were missing,
I told him to contact PC World and get his money back as it was fraud.
I also informed him that I would call to the store and find
out the details of what happened.
So I drove 25 miles to the store today and met an assistant
whom I asked if I could speak to the Manager
he directed me to this chap who said he was a manager.
I asked if he was the head manager
Just to look at him you would know he was an assistant
fobbed off as a manager he said he was not the head manager
she was on the phone in conference
(His exact words)
I said please interrupt her and tell her it is urgent eventually
after much ado he tipped her and told her I wished
to speak on an urgent matter.
Her name was Louise Madden she asked me what the problem
was and I duly explained my case to her to which she replied it
must have slipped through, give me your phone number and
I will investigate it for you.(Sherlock Holmes to the rescue)
I told her I was going to put it on the Joe Duffy radio show etc
and she replied ok.
So I left the store muttering what a shower of scamming wasters.
They probably did not hear me the majority of
them in the store look like zombies.
Why zombies you ask well one day i asked an assistant in the
computer section for a cable to connect 2 computers together and he
informed me that it cannot be done , a customer standing nearby met
up with me outside the store and informed me it could be done this I already knew before I drove the 25 miles to buy one.
Another day while I was waiting for my computer to be replaced
an old gent came in with a faulty mouse from a new computer he
had purchased a week earlier and the lady manager told him
she would have to send it away for repairs to which he asked what
the feck do I do in the meantime her answer was buy a prepacked
one from the shelf for 20 euro.
If I do not buy one how long will it take to repair the old one,
answer about a month.
God help all the poor bastards who have to take this shite from
jumped up so call managers who think they have the authority to shit
on we the customers that keep them in their jobs.

I had better cool down and finish the story for you.

I came home disgusted with their answer to a very serious complaint.
After all it was my private information that was floating around out there somewhere.

P.S They have all my records on their computer if they wish to know what computers I purchased and the dates of same.
The lady manager in PC World in Limerick informed me that any computer returned to their store a few months old are reformatted and sold as re-furbished computers and the ones that are only a week or so old are sent back to the manufacturers for credit.
This means that every computer returned is sold again as new.
I have been to that store at least 100 times and have never seen a sign on a computer saying refurbished or second hand.
Furthermore I asked her why was this particular computer which was supposed to be returned to Sony sold as NEW when I had returned it as faulty.
She replied it was not faulty I must have just got tired of it or changed my mind.
Question:
Why did I leave my personal stuff on the computer if there was nothing wrong with it.
Answer: I would not have done so if the computer had not closed down on me.

Forgot to mention the last computer I returned they
wrote on the credit note

Returned UNUSED & UNOPENED.
